Even though i have obviously seen Jaws many times i decided to watch it again after having a recent conversation with someone about the film. We were discussing about how almost cheesy the whole movie is. I can’t believe when i was younger i didn’t notice how bad some of the effects were, or even how fake some of the shark scenes can be. Even with all that though jaws is a classic and i really like the Jaws movie. I remember watching it when i was younger and being terrified of the the great white shark in the movie. I guess you could say the shark in the film shows a social implication just by being a shark. Everyone expects sharks to attack and in the movie that is exactly what happens. In the movie they are trying to tell tourist that people died because of boating accidents when shark attacks are really happening. The whole thing is about them trying to get the beach shut down but the mayor refuses to not ruin the summer. Since i had already seen the movie many times i wanted to look up some stuff about it and in doing so i learned that jaws was the highest-grossing film at the time, and it was also the most successful film of all time until Star Wars came out. I was really surprised by that!
