I am clearly a photographer and not a artist for a reason. In my Commercial I class we have to draw four sketches for each assignment and then our teacher will review these sketches to choose which idea we should shoot, if any. Here are my four texture ideas. [Don’t make fun of my drawing capabilities, please.]
I did not draw lighting into my sketches because i want to be able to play around in the studio to decide my lighting techniques. I don’t know enough about lighting yet to make a decision on where i want to light from.
Candy: In the candy sketch i have a white background, some sort of color fabric underneath, a tall ribbed cup, a small ribbed cup, and a ribbed bowl. Inside the tall ribbed cup i would put Twizzlers, inside the small ribbed cup blow pops, & inside the ribbed bowl some sort of sugary candy.
Cupcake(s): In the cupcake sketch i have a cupcake, maybe more, on a tray with a white background. I would maybe use a gel on the background depending on the color if the icing.
Milk & Cookies: In the milk & cookies sketch i have cookies stacked up with one or two propped up & a ribbed cup with milk. (Milk might not even show depending on how high it is shot.)
Celery/Raisins/Crunchy Peanut Butter: In the celery/raisins/crunchy peanut butter sketch i would have a light brown burlap tablecloth down with the celery & raisins on top with the crunchy peanut butter in some sort of container.
